Do you close for the summer holidays?
Our language programs are accessible throughout the entire year, including the summer season. This enables students to sustain their learning without any breaks and advance towards achieving their language proficiency objectives.
Can I use internet and check my emails while studying at HLS?
Yes, our school offers free access to WIFI.
Does Hungarian Language School offer any insurance cover for long-term students?
No, but it is mandatory for visa purposes to arrange personal liability insurance yourself.
How can I book a course?
Complete the online application form and select your desired course. Booking is confirmed once you pay the full amount of the course.

How can I assess my Hungarian language level?
You can perform a level test online. If you have passed successfully the first level, you will need to undertake a speaking examination by one of our professors. The oral examination is available from Monday to Thursday between 10:00 and 14:00. If you cannot come during this time please contact us via email (info@hlschool.hu) to request another appointment.
When do I need to book a course?
As class size is limited, we recommend to register and pay the tuition at least one month in advance.
Can I book initially for one or two weeks and then extend my course?
No, you can register only for a full course, but we can organize a free trial lesson.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking?
Certainly, upon successful processing of your payment, you will be sent an invoice confirming your booking. If you do not receive any communication from us within two days, please reach out, as it could indicate that your booking hasn't been received. Your course will be guaranteed as soon as we receive your advance payment.
How can I pay for my course?
We accept payment by credit card, bank transfer, PayPal or cash.
Will you send me an invoice before my course starts?
Yes, we confirm all bookings with an invoice via email.
What qualifications do the teachers have?
All of our teachers are native speakers. They are all university graduates with master's degrees and have extensive experience in adult language education.
How big are the classes?
At our school, classes are limited to a maximum of 14 participants.
How long is a lesson?
45 minutes.
How old do I have to be to join a course?
To book a language course at our school, you have to be 18 years old.

How do I find the right course for my language level?
Before starting your courses (if you are not a complete beginner), there is a mandatory written and oral online assessment test. This ensures that you begin your first day in the appropriate class.
Can I change groups if I feel I’m in the wrong group?
Certainly, if you find the pace, difficulty, or level of your class unsuitable, feel free to discuss it with your teacher. If you require a second opinion, the school's management is available to assist you in making a decision.
What is included in the course price?
Included in the class are books (excluding online courses) and various teaching materials, a notebook, placement test, invitation letter, and, if necessary, an enrollment letter. Additionally, students will receive a Magyar Iskola Diploma confirming the attained level.

Will I receive a certificate?
Magyar Iskola Diploma will be awarded to students who have participated in over 50% of the teaching sessions in their course and have achieved a minimum score of 60% on the end-of-course test.
