Method
Our Method
Here at the Hungarian Language School our goal is to give you the confidence and ability to handle all the practical, everyday situations you will meet during your time in Hungary. These include: going shopping, getting around town and getting to know people, as well as dealing with various situations at home and at work, or even filling in official forms. Of course, we want your course at HLS to be both useful and practical, but we also want you to enjoy your time with us , and with that in mind we regularly organise cultural activities or excursions as part of our courses.
Our Materials
At HLS we mainly use Ilona Koháry's book (Új Magyar Iskola 1 and 2) alongside ideas and materials from other books. Here are some examples from the book: A Picture Dictionary of Food (large file), Talking About Food, Test: Are You Living a Healthy Life? Talking About Frequency (‘Often’, ‘Usually’, ‘Twice a week’, etc...) We also use authentic materials which you will come across in everyday life, such as listings magazines, official forms, social media, newspaper articles, and tv and radio programmes, bringing the real world into the classroom.
Our Teachers
The Hungarian Language School employs highly qualified teachers, specially trained to teach Hungarian as a foreign language. Learning with our teachers is not only effective but also an enjoyable and fun experience.
